Skrillex drops surprise ‘Kora’ EP
Skrillex has surprise-released a new EP titled ‘Kora’, adding another leftfield chapter to his current run of releases. Moreover, the three-track project leans into the more experimental side of his sound, blending noise, guitar textures, and glitch-heavy details across a compact, atmospheric listen.
Across the EP, Skrillex links up with frequent collaborators Varg2™, Siiickbrain, and Whitearmor, while also bringing in additional contributions from Sacred Family and swedm®. Instead of chasing festival-ready drops, ‘Kora’ focuses on tension, sound design, and mood, showing a different angle of his production approach and keeping the project intentionally raw.
The EP lands after a busy 2025 that saw Skrillex continue pushing material at a rapid pace. In April, he released the album ‘F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3’, following his 2023 full-length run with ‘Quest For Fire’ and ‘Don’t Get Too Close’. Additionally, he dropped the ‘hit me where it hurts x’ EP, which flipped a Caroline Polachek sample into another sharp, club-leaning moment.
That momentum also carried into awards season, as ‘F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3’ picked up two Grammy nominations, including Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for ‘VOLTAGE’. Now, with ‘Kora’, Skrillex pivots again, offering a more ambient and abstract release that still feels unmistakably his.
