Splice has acquired Kits AI, an AI-powered vocal production company, continuing its recent run of acquisitions. The move comes less than a year after Splice’s purchase of Spitfire Audio in May 2025. Kits AI’s co-founders, Evan Dhillon and Kyle Dhillon, along with the rest of the team, will join Splice as part of the deal.

Founded in 2021, Kits AI focuses on tools that allow creators to generate, transform, and refine vocals. The company says it was the first platform to introduce licensed artist voice models and claims to have processed more than 80 million minutes of vocals for over 7 million users. Over time, Kits AI has received backing from a range of investors and artists, including Andreessen Horowitz, Palm Tree Crew, 3LAU, Louis Bell, Steve Aoki, and Wyclef Jean.

Splice said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy around creator-focused generative AI. Furthermore, the deal also builds on recent product and partnership activity, including the launch of Splice Instruments and a December 2025 partnership with Universal Music Group focused on AI-powered music creation tools.

Speaking about the move, Splice CEO Kakul Srivastava said, “It was important to us to find a team that shared Splice’s creator-first values, and that was equally committed to the responsible development of AI, including artist compensation.

Both companies have stated that licensed data, artist collaboration, and compensation remain key priorities as questions are still being asked about AI’s role and ethics in music.
