Charli xcx releases ‘Wuthering Heights’ film album: Listen
Charli xcx has released her new album ‘Wuthering Heights’, written for Emerald Fennell’s latest feature film, now playing in theatres. Through the project, Charli delivers a full-length body of work that complements Fennell’s bold reinterpretation of the classic love story. Consequently, the album arrives as both a standalone release and a cinematic extension of the film’s emotional intensity.
The film stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, reimagining the turbulent relationship at the heart of ‘Wuthering Heights’. Moreover, the narrative explores forbidden passion that spirals into obsession, framing lust, love, and psychological descent within a dramatic period setting. As a result, Charli’s music underscores the atmosphere while reinforcing the film’s darker tonal shifts.
Meanwhile, Charli continues to expand her presence in cinema. This month, she stars in A24’s ‘The Moment’, based on her original concept and directed by Aidan Zamiri. The film marks the first co-production from her new venture, studio365, and has already become A24’s fastest-selling limited release following its Sundance premiere.
In addition, Charli has secured roles in multiple upcoming films, including Daniel Goldhaber’s remake of ‘Faces of Death’, Greg Araki’s ‘I Want Your Sex’, Cathy Yan’s ‘The Gallerist’, Julia Jackman’s ‘100 Nights Of Hero’, Romain Gavras’ ‘Sacrifice’, and Pete Ohs’ ‘Erupcja’. Therefore, with ‘Wuthering Heights’, Charli xcx continues to blur the line between pop music and film.
