Daft Punk drop new Human After All visuals on 5th split anniversary: Watch
Daft Punk have unveiled a new official video for their 2005 single ‘Human After All’, marking five years since they announced their split in February 2021. They premiered the visuals on February 22, drawing directly from their 2006 sci-fi film ‘Electroma’ and adding a cinematic layer to one of their darker, more minimalist tracks.
Originally released as the third single from their album of the same name in October 2005, Human After All came from sessions that sought raw, industrial energy — a notable contrast to the duo’s earlier disco-infused work. The album’s title track reflects that aesthetic, combining electronic rock and electroclash elements into a stark, rhythmic anthem. On this fifth anniversary, the new visuals reinterpret the Electroma narrative, showing robotic figures navigating human landscapes — a theme that connects directly back to Daft Punk’s artistic exploration of identity and technology.
While Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have both pursued projects post-Daft Punk, including Bangalter’s solo DJ appearance in Paris last year, the legacy of the duo continues to unfold through archival work and curated releases. Late last year, Daft Punk partnered with Fortnite for a unique virtual experience, and they also issued a 20th anniversary remix collection of Human After All on vinyl, featuring reworks from Justice, Soulwax, Basement Jaxx, Erol Alkan, and The Juan Maclean.
With Human After All receiving new visual life nearly two decades after its original release, Daft Punk’s influence on electronic music culture remains unmistakable — and their ability to reinvent their past work continues to captivate fans worldwide.
