Free Saturation Plugin from Sonible puffer:fish Now Available for Download

puffer:fish is a newly released free saturation plug-in by Sonible built around three distinct processing modes. The interface centers on animated pufferfish that visually respond as the saturation amount increases.

The plug-in offers three selectable characters: Tinyfin, Spikeskin, and Twitchgill. Each mode applies a different harmonic profile and saturation behavior.

Tinyfin focuses on low-intensity harmonic enhancement. It introduces gentle harmonics designed to increase signal density and perceived loudness while maintaining a controlled response. The mode targets subtle saturation across sources such as vocals, instruments, and buses.

Spikeskin applies a more aggressive saturation curve. Harmonic content increases rapidly as the drive is pushed, and transient response becomes more pronounced. This mode is positioned for heavier distortion and stronger tonal reshaping.

Twitchgill operates with a more dynamic harmonic response. The saturation character changes more noticeably as input levels rise, introducing additional movement and textural variation. The behavior shifts progressively from mild coloration to more pronounced harmonic complexity.
