While music and the industry itself have shifted wildly over the last 30 years, plenty of producers continue to look to the 90s trance and techno for inspiration. Originally released in 1996 by Ferry Corsten under his Moon Man moniker, his pulsing rhythms and melodies of Don't Be Afraid continue to resonate and inspire. Looking to deliver a fresh take on the iconic track, Joris Voorn has reworked the 30-year-old single, delivering a fresh update for modern listeners. Taking the iconic melody of the original track, Voorn has brightened the percussion and added a new bite to the track to better sit alongside modern releases.

A great track can inspire fellow artists even a decade after its initial release. Joris Voorn has looked back on an iconic production from 1996 for his latest offering.

As an iconic producer in his own right, Joris Voorn knows better than to rip away the heart and soul of Don’t Be Afraid, and the infectious melody remains front and center. Beyond that, he gives the Ferry Corsten production a fresh pulse and power. For those accustomed to the 1996 track, they will enjoy the nostalgia and the ability to revisit this anthem with fresh ears. As for those just discovering the track, they now get to work backwards, hear the power and influence of history, and how it still resonates today.
