AIR Music Technology Iona Synth Plugin Gets 60% Discount

Plugin developer AIR Music Technology has launched a limited-time sale on its analog-style synth plugin Iona, reducing the price from $149.99 to $59. The 60% discount is available until May 4.

AIR Iona is designed as a modern software recreation of the classic Roland SH-101 synthesizer, one of the most influential monosynths in electronic music history. The plugin recreates the original instrument’s sound engine and workflow while adding several modern production features.

Iona features a synth architecture based on the original SH-101 design, including pulse, sawtooth, sub-oscillator, and noise sources. Users can shape sounds with traditional controls such as pulse-width modulation, portamento, and pitch modulation, along with a resonant filter section that can be modulated via envelope, LFO, or keyboard tracking.

The plugin also includes a BPM-syncable LFO with nine wave shapes, allowing producers to create rhythmic modulation effects that stay locked to project tempo.

One of the key highlights of the instrument is its pattern sequencer, which recreates the workflow of the SH-101’s classic sequencer while expanding it with up to 128 steps, transpose and shift functions, and a graphical editing interface.

To further expand the sonic palette, Iona includes an integrated effects section featuring lo-fi processing, delay, reverb, and a three-band EQ. The plugin ships with more than 100 factory presets, offering a range of basses, leads, and classic analog-style sounds.

Additional customization options include five different interface skins inspired by the original hardware design.

With its combination of vintage modeling and modern workflow enhancements, Iona provides a flexible SH-101-style synth for contemporary music production.
