AIR Music Technology Xpand!2 Plugin Gets 50% Discount, Now $49

Music production software developer AIR Music Technology has announced a 50% discount on its popular workstation plugin Xpand!2. The instrument is currently available for $49, down from the regular $99 price, with the offer running until May 4.

Xpand!2 first launched as part of the instrument bundle included with Avid Pro Tools. As the DAW grew in popularity, producers began relying heavily on the plugin for its wide range of sounds and fast workflow. Due to strong demand, AIR Music Technology later released Xpand!2 as a standalone instrument.

Xpand!2 is a multitimbral workstation plugin that allows users to combine four instrument parts within a single patch. Each part runs on its own MIDI channel and includes separate controls for note range, mix, modulation, arpeggiation, and effects. Producers can stack sounds or create layered instruments that work together in one preset.

The plugin uses multiple sound engines, including sample playback, FM synthesis, and wavetable-based sources. AIR’s sound design team has built a library of more than 2,500 presets and instrument parts, covering a wide range of categories such as synth leads, pads, basses, pianos, strings, guitars, and drums.

Xpand!2 also includes six Smart Knobs that change function depending on the selected sound. These controls allow quick adjustments to key parameters without diving into complex menus. An Easy Edit mode lets users modify all four instrument parts at once for faster sound design.

For performance and sequencing, each part includes an independent arpeggiator with tempo sync, latch mode, and multiple playback patterns.

The plugin also features two effects processors with 50 built-in effects, including reverbs, delays, modulation effects, and creative processors.

With its large preset library and flexible layering system, Xpand!2 remains one of the most widely used entry-level workstation plugins for producers. The 50% discount runs until May 4.
