AudioThing Springs Plugin Gets 43% Discount, Vintage Spring Reverb Now $39

Audio plugin developer AudioThing has launched a limited-time sale on its vintage reverb plugin Springs, reducing the price from $69 to $39. The 43% discount is available until April 13.

AudioThing Springs recreates the sound of classic spring reverbs, a type of effect widely used in vintage guitar amplifiers and studio gear. The plugin includes eight different spring reverb emulations, ranging from a long six-spring tube unit to compact single-spring battery-powered designs.

AudioThing combined convolution and physical modelling techniques to recreate the character of each hardware unit. The result is a collection of reverbs that capture the distinctive “boingy” and metallic textures associated with classic spring tanks.

A key feature of the plugin is its built-in Baxandall equalizer, a classic tone stack commonly found in vintage guitar amps. While traditional Baxandall circuits usually offer two bands—bass and treble, AudioThing expanded the design with a third mid band that includes adjustable Q control. This allows producers to shape the reverb tone in greater detail.

The plugin also includes a Bandwidth control, which filters the signal entering the spring reverb. This helps manage overly boomy low frequencies or harsh high-end resonances that can occur in spring-based effects.

AudioThing Springs ships with 50 presets designed for quick sound selection across different musical styles. Other features include a resizable interface and a preset randomizer for fast experimentation.

Spring reverbs remain popular among producers and sound designers looking for vintage textures in guitars, vocals, synths, and dub-style effects.
