A Berlin apartment is quietly redefining what a home can feel like, and this time, the reference point isn’t another residence, but one of the world’s most iconic nightclubs. Designed by Studio Karhard, the minds behind Berghain, the B32 apartment in Kreuzberg takes the raw, industrial energy of the club and reshapes it into something surprisingly livable.

Rather than simply recreating a nightclub aesthetic, the studio approached the space through contrast. They structured the apartment around light and darkness, creating distinct zones that shift in mood as you move through it. As a result, the space feels less like a fixed layout and more like a sequence of scenes.

At the center sits a curved glass-brick wall, which acts as both a divider and a light source. It separates spaces without blocking them, allowing daylight to diffuse across the apartment while maintaining a sense of flow.

Material choices play just as important a role. Stainless steel and untreated brass bring an industrial edge, while terrazzo flooring, plaster walls, and velvet textures soften the atmosphere. The result sits somewhere between techno minimalism and 1960s Milanese interiors , clean, tactile, and intentional.

Originally a standard two-room layout, the apartment underwent a full redesign, turning it into a more open, layered living space tailored to its owners’ lifestyle. What makes the project stand out isn’t just the reference to club culture, but how naturally it translates. It doesn’t feel like a concept — it feels like a space that moves, shifts, and breathes, much like a night out does.
