BT revisits classic era with Sasha as rare vinyl archive goes up for auction

Electronic music pioneer BT has opened part of his personal archive, offering fans and collectors a rare chance to own pieces of dance music history. In collaboration with Amplifyd, the producer has unveiled a curated collection of records spanning key moments across his career.

The archive includes rare originals, white labels, acetates, alternate versions and signed copies, many of which played an important role in shaping BT’s sound throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. Among the highlights are records connected to iconic productions such as ‘Mercury and Solace’, ‘Flaming June’, ‘Still Life In Motion’, and ‘Embracing The Sunshine (Sasha Remix)’.

Some of the records still carry the marks of their journey through studios and tours, including handwritten notes, catalog stickers and wear from years on the road, while others remained carefully preserved inside BT’s personal archive for decades.

Reflecting on the project, Sasha described the process of revisiting the collection as a nostalgic return to the early days of their careers.

“BT and I went digging through the archives and it turned into a proper trip down memory lane — studios, car rides and first plays on dancefloors,” he shared. “White labels, acetates, test pressings and signed copies that were part of the journey from studio experiments to dancefloors.”

The collection also reflects a time when vinyl and CDs served as both creative tools and archives, long before digital transfers replaced the physical movement of music through DAT tapes, acetates and advance pressings.
