Home News Charlotte de Witte cancels Australia shows amid Middle East conflict escalation

Charlotte de Witte has cancelled her upcoming shows in Australia this weekend. The Belgian techno star shared the news after escalating conflict and drone attacks across the Middle East began affecting international travel routes. In a statement to fans, she explained that the situation made safe travel impossible for her and her touring team.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to cancel my upcoming shows in Australia this weekend,” she wrote. “Due to the recent escalation of conflict and drone attacks in the Middle East, it is not possible to risk free reroute travel for myself and my crew.” The cancelled dates include performances scheduled in Sydney and Melbourne.

However, the shows may still return later this year. Charlotte de Witte confirmed that her team is already working on new options. Promoters currently aim to reschedule the Sydney performance. Meanwhile, organizers are exploring an alternative date for Melbourne before the end of the year. All ticket holders will receive updates directly from event organizers regarding refunds or newly announced dates.

The decision comes as tensions between Israel, Iran, and United States military forces continue to escalate. Missile launches, drone attacks, and rising military activity have already triggered alerts across parts of the Middle East. As a result, airlines have started adjusting several long-haul routes. Many flights now avoid specific airspaces across the region. For global touring artists, these disruptions create serious logistical challenges. Flights between Europe, Asia, and Australia often rely on those corridors. When airspace suddenly closes, tour schedules can quickly collapse.
