Elijah Wood to DJ Lord of the Rings-themed rave in Denver
In one of the most unexpected crossovers between cinema and nightlife, Elijah Wood will headline a Lord of the Rings-themed rave in Denver, marking 25 years since the first film launched the iconic trilogy.
Best known for his role as Frodo Baggins, Wood will take to the decks alongside Zach Cowie as their long-running vinyl-only DJ project Wooden Wisdom. The event will take place on May 31 at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, with tickets already sold out and costumes encouraged, adding to the immersive theme of the night.
Rather than leaning into fantasy soundtracks, the duo will deliver a set rooted in rare vinyl selections, focusing heavily on ’70s and ’80s disco, soul and deep cuts, a signature style they’ve refined over more than a decade of performing together.
Meanwhile, the Denver show forms part of a wider run of dates for Wooden Wisdom, who recently launched a dedicated Instagram page to highlight their DJ activity. The duo will also perform across the United States, with stops in Orlando, Kansas City, Dallas and Los Angeles.
However, unlike the Denver event, most of these shows will not follow a specific theme, making the Lord of the Rings rave a unique one-off celebration tied to both film history and electronic music culture.
Altogether, the event highlights how pop culture and dance music continue to collide in unexpected ways, turning iconic moments from film into immersive nightlife experiences for a new generation of fans.
