Empire of the Sun announce ‘Ask That God: Afterlife’ North American tour
Electronic pop visionaries Empire of the Sun have officially announced their largest North American tour to date, unveiling the ‘Ask That God: Afterlife’ tour for 2026. The new run arrives following the duo’s sold-out ‘Ask That God’ world tour in 2025, continuing the visual and sonic universe introduced through their latest album.
Promoted by Live Nation, the 30+ date tour will begin August 11 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado before traveling across major cities throughout the United States and Canada. Highlights include two New York performances at Forest Hills Stadium (August 29) and Northwell at Jones Beach Theater (August 30), as well as a major Los Angeles show at the Hollywood Bowl on October 8. The tour will conclude October 9 in Las Vegas at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Meanwhile, Polo & Pan and rising electro-funk band Midnight Generation will support the duo across all headline dates. In addition, the tour will kick off with festival appearances including Osheaga in Montreal, Up in the Sky in Aspen, and Outside Lands in San Francisco.
A new chapter in the Ask That God universe
Building on the concept introduced in the 2024 album ‘Ask That God’, the Afterlife tour expands the project’s story through a completely reimagined live experience. The production aims to blend music, theatrical visuals, and immersive storytelling into what the band describes as the final installment of the Ask That God journey.
Frontman Luke Steele described the tour as a turning point for the band.
“It feels like a very pivotal time,” Steele said. “We have a new song to sing, we have to step into a new doorway — a new chapter.”
Released in 2024, ‘Ask That God’ debuted at No.4 on Billboard’s Top Dance Albums chart, marking Empire of the Sun fourth studio album to reach the chart’s top ten.
The announcement follows a massive 2025 global tour that spanned 22 countries and nine festivals, reaching over 220,000 fans worldwide. The run included 110,000 tickets sold in the United States and more than 40,000 tickets across Mexico, cementing the duo’s reputation as one of the most visually ambitious acts in electronic music.
