Fred again.. releases ‘USB002 Remixes’ album featuring Skream & Benga, HAAi and more: Listen
Fred again.. has unveiled ‘USB002 Remixes’, a new project that expands the second era of his ever-evolving USB series. The release features eight reworked tracks taken from the USB002 chapter, with contributions from a wide range of producers connected to Fred’s recent live shows and collaborations.
Among the highlights is the recently released ‘OK OK (Hamdi remix)’, alongside additional remixes from artists such as Skream & Benga, HAAi, Oppidan, Lou Nour, KETTAMA, and Lil Silva. Meanwhile, Brazilian artist MC Dricka appears on a newly reworked version of ‘Facilita’, adding fresh vocals to the track.
The USB002 era closes with historic Alexandra Palace shows
The remix album arrives shortly after Fred again.. closed out the USB002 era with a series of landmark performances at Alexandra Palace in London. The final night delivered one of the most talked-about moments of the run, as Thomas Bangalter, best known as one half of Daft Punk, joined Fred for a surprise back-to-back DJ set, marking Bangalter’s second live appearance in nearly two decades.
Furthermore, the event featured standout collaborations across the night, including a rare live appearance from Kano, who performed classics such as ‘3 Wheel Ups’ and ‘P’s & Q’s’ alongside Ezra Collective.
A celebration of UK bass music culture
Earlier in the week, another Alexandra Palace show celebrated the legacy of UK dubstep, bringing pioneers Skream & Benga, Coki, and Mala together on stage. The set also featured performances from Flowdan, D Double E, JME, and Duurty Goodz.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments arrived when La Roux made a rare appearance to perform ‘In For The Kill’, accompanied by the iconic Skream remix that helped shape a generation of bass music.
Continuing the USB story
The USB series originally began in 2022, featuring standout releases such as ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ with Skrillex and Flowdan, ‘Jungle’, and collaborations with artists including Baby Keem and Lil Yachty. The first collection later arrived on vinyl as USB001 in 2024.
Last year, Fred launched the USB002 era, revealing a plan to release ten tracks and perform ten shows in ten cities across ten weeks, further expanding the constantly evolving project.
