Home News Groove Armada celebrate 30 years of shaping electronic music

Electronic music pioneers Groove Armada are celebrating 30 years of their career, marking three decades of genre-defying releases, global hits and unforgettable dancefloor moments. Formed in 1996 by Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, the British duo quickly established themselves as one of the most distinctive acts in electronic music.

Their early breakthrough arrived with ‘At The River’, a laid-back chillout classic that helped introduce the group’s signature blend of downtempo, house and soul-infused electronica. Soon after, Groove Armada cemented their global reputation with dancefloor staples such as ‘I See You Baby’ and the Grammy-nominated anthem Superstylin’’, tracks that would become defining sounds of the late 1990s and early 2000s club era.

Across a series of influential albums including ‘Vertigo’ (1999), ‘Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub)’ (2001) and ‘Black Light’ (2010), the duo consistently evolved their sound while maintaining a distinctive musical identity. Their catalogue blends house, disco, funk, downtempo, and electronica, creating a body of work that has crossed genres, generations and global dancefloors.

Beyond the studio, Groove Armada built a reputation as one of electronic music’s most respected live and DJ acts. From intimate club performances to major festival stages worldwide, their dynamic performances have helped shape dance music culture for decades.

The duo have released nine studio albums, with several charting in the UK Albums Chart Top 50, while collaborations over the years have included artists such as Neneh Cherry, Richie Havens, Todd Edwards, Mutya Buena and Joel Culpepper.

Three decades after forming, Groove Armada’s music remains as relevant as ever, continuing to inspire artists and soundtrack dancefloors around the world.
