iZotope’s VocalSynth 2 Drops to $29 in Limited-Time Deal

Audio software developer iZotope is offering its experimental vocal processing plugin VocalSynth 2 for $29, significantly reduced from $199. The 85% discount is available until March 17.

Designed as an advanced vocal effects environment, VocalSynth 2 combines multiple vocal processing engines, stompbox-style effects, and real-time performance controls in a single plugin aimed at producers, sound designers, and vocal engineers.

Five Vocal Engines for Creative Processing

At the core of the plugin are five distinct vocal processing modules that can be blended together to create layered vocal textures:

• Vocoder for classic robotic and electronic vocal effects
• Compuvox for vintage digital voice processing
• Polyvox for pitch shifting and harmonization
• Talkbox for guitar-style vocal articulation
• Biovox, a unique module that models the human vocal tract

The Biovox module uses scientific modelling to replicate vocal characteristics such as nasality, vowel shapes, and formants, allowing users to subtly reshape vocals or create dramatic sound design effects.

Stompbox-Style Vocal Effects

VocalSynth 2 also includes a drag-and-drop stompbox effects chain with seven effects modules. Producers can add and reorder effects including Shred, Ring Mod, Chorus, Distort, Filter, Transform, and Delay, enabling both subtle processing and extreme vocal manipulation.

This modular approach allows users to layer multiple effects and experiment with complex vocal textures without complicated routing inside the DAW.

Multiple Performance Modes

The plugin supports three different operating modes depending on workflow:

• Auto Mode – Automatically locks vocals to key with pitch correction and harmony generation
• MIDI Mode – Allows users to play vocal harmonies and vocoder-style effects using a MIDI keyboard
• Sidechain Mode – Lets producers use external audio as a carrier signal to make instruments “talk” or generate unusual sound design effects

Visualization and Ecosystem Integration

VocalSynth 2 also features a dynamic visual interface called Anemone, which reacts in real time to the spectral characteristics of incoming audio.

Additionally, the plugin integrates with other iZotope production tools, including Neutron 2 and Tonal Balance Control, enabling inter-plugin communication for mix analysis and workflow integration.

Presets and Workflow Improvements

The plugin includes hundreds of presets designed to quickly generate classic vocoder tones, modern hyper-pop vocal effects, or experimental textures. Improvements to CPU efficiency, module controls, and sound quality also make the updated version faster and more flexible for modern production environments.
