Home News JAUZ announces hiatus of his project after final retrospective show at Academy LA

American DJ and producer Jauz has announced that he will step away from the Jauz project for the foreseeable future, marking the end of a defining chapter in his career. The announcement arrived through a personal message shared with fans, where the artist confirmed that his upcoming shows will serve as a closing moment for the project before he takes a break from both touring and releasing music under the name.

In the statement, Jauz, whose real name is Sam Vogel, explained that after his next few performances he will pause the project entirely. He emphasized that the decision does not mark a permanent retirement but rather the closing of a chapter in order to make space for what comes next creatively.

To commemorate the moment, Vogel will perform a special retrospective extended set at Academy LA on March 14, 2026. The show will celebrate 12 years of music from 2014 to 2026, featuring originals, remixes, bootlegs and edits that shaped the project’s journey. According to the announcement, the performance will highlight records that defined his career and the community he built with fans often referred to as the Sharksquad.

From SoundCloud remixes to global festival stages

Over the past decade, Jauz has established himself as one of electronic music’s most recognizable bass-driven artists. He first gained attention through remixes uploaded online before catching the attention of major figures such as Diplo, Skrillex and Borgore.

His breakout moment arrived in 2014 with ‘Feel The Volume’, released on Diplo’s Mad Decent. The following years saw collaborations with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including ‘Squad Out!’ with Skrillex and the massive hit ‘Gassed Up’ with DJ Snake.

In 2017, Vogel launched his own record label Bite This, which quickly became a platform for bass house and bass music talent.

Closing one chapter

Jauz later expanded his catalog with albums including ‘The Wise and the Wicked’ and ‘Rise Of The Wise’, the latter featuring the single ‘Lights Go Out’, which reached No.17 on Billboard’s Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart.

Now, with the upcoming Academy LA show set to celebrate more than a decade of music, Vogel confirmed that he is ready to step away from the project for now.

“I’m not going away forever,” he wrote in his message to fans. “But I’m closing the chapter on this part of my career and life to make way for what comes next.”

For longtime followers of the project, the March 14 show in Los Angeles will mark a final chance to experience the sound and era that helped define Jauz’s rise across the global electronic music scene.
