Kylie Minogue to headline 2026 AFL Grand Final pre-game show

Kylie Minogue will headline the 2026 AFL Grand Final pre-game show, bringing one of Australia’s most iconic artists to the stage of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on September 26. The appearance marks the first time in her career that the global pop superstar will perform at the country’s biggest sporting event.

The AFL confirmed the announcement as part of its plans for what organizers hope will become one of the most memorable Grand Final pre-game shows in recent history. For AFL CEO Andrew Dillon, the booking represents a long-awaited moment.

“The Toyota AFL Grand Final is the biggest event on the Australian sporting calendar – and this year we welcome home an Australian icon,” Dillon said. “Kylie has been on our wish list for a long time.”

For Minogue, the event carries personal significance. Born in Melbourne, she described the opportunity to perform at the MCG as a special homecoming moment.

“The AFL Grand Final at Melbourne’s one and only, forever iconic MCG? Yes please! As a Melburnian, I’m so excited to be coming home for the biggest day in the Aussie sporting calendar.”

Production for the 2026 show will be led by Mushroom Group, with additional entertainment announcements for Grand Final Day expected later in the year.
