Linkin Park break Spark Arena attendance record in Auckland
Linkin Park added another milestone to their global return, as the band set a new all-time attendance record at Spark Arena in Auckland.
During the final night of their Australia and New Zealand run, the group drew 12,736 fans, surpassing every previous show held at the venue since its opening in 2007. Moreover, the team marked the achievement backstage with a dedicated presentation ahead of the performance, highlighting the significance of the moment for both the band and the local industry.
As a result, Spark Arena general manager Mark Gosling emphasized the importance of the night, noting how Auckland continues to attract major international tours. “To break a nearly twenty-year attendance record is a testament to the band’s enduring connection with their fans and the strength of New Zealand’s live music scene,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Michael Coppel, Chairman of Live Nation Australia and New Zealand, pointed to the wider impact of the tour. “Breaking the all-time record for tickets at Spark Arena is a phenomenal achievement that caps off what has officially become the most successful Australia and New Zealand tour of the band’s career,” he said.
At the same time, the momentum extended beyond New Zealand. Just days earlier, the band’s sold-out Sydney performance pushed Qudos Bank Arena past its 15 million ticket milestone, reinforcing the scale of demand across the region.
Furthermore, early tour reactions confirmed the band’s continued relevance. Reviews from the Brisbane opener highlighted how Linkin Park balanced newer material with defining tracks like ‘Numb’ and ‘In the End’, while Mike Shinoda closed the night with a promise to return sooner.
