Martin Garrix has entered a new chapter in his career with the release of ‘Catharina’, a track that sees the Dutch superstar step behind the mic for the first time as a solo vocalist.
Released via his label STMPD RCRDS, the single marks a significant evolution in Garrix’s artistic direction. While he has experimented with vocals in previous collaborations, ‘Catharina’ stands as the first track where his voice takes center stage alone .
Sonically, the record leans into a more emotional and melodic direction, blending atmospheric production with a personal vocal performance. The track builds around a hypnotic topline, with Martin Garrix repeating the name “Catharina” across a progression that feels both intimate and festival-ready.
Interestingly, the release follows months of subtle teasers, where Garrix shared glimpses of the track alongside scenic visuals, building anticipation among fans. The rollout hinted at a more introspective and storytelling-driven phase in his music, which now fully comes to life with the official release. At the same time, ‘Catharina’ continues Garrix’s transition toward a more personal sound, following recent years of high-profile collaborations and chart-driven releases. This shift suggests a stronger focus on identity and artistic expression as he moves further into 2026.
Meanwhile, the release follows a period of major activity for Garrix. Last month, he revealed he was searching for local DJs to open his upcoming Americas tour, highlighting his continued support for emerging talent. In addition, he recently confirmed a 2026 residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza, further cementing his presence on the global stage.
