Developed by Unfiltered Audio, Battalion is designed as a modern drum production environment that combines sampling capabilities with deep synthesis tools. The plugin allows producers to create beats using both sample-based drums and fully synthesized percussion, offering a flexible approach to modern rhythm design.

Hybrid Drum Machine Architecture

At the core of Battalion is a hybrid engine that blends synthesis and sampling. The instrument includes 20 dedicated synthesis engines capable of generating a wide range of drum sounds, from classic 1980s drum machine tones to modern electronic percussion.

Alongside the synthesis section is a fully featured sampler module, allowing users to load and manipulate their own sounds. The sampler includes four playback modes: Classic, Phase Warp, Cloner, and Granular, enabling everything from straightforward sample triggering to complex sound manipulation.

Beyond basic drum programming, Battalion includes a deep set of sound design tools. Each voice features modulation sources, envelopes, and LFOs for shaping drum timbres and movement.

Additional processing tools include multi-mode filters, distortion algorithms such as bitcrush, wavefold, and tape-style saturation, and a three-band EQ for shaping the overall sound.

Battalion also integrates Unfiltered Audio effects, including the Shatter Delay and Headspace Reverb, allowing producers to add spatial and rhythmic effects directly inside the instrument.

Performance Mode for Live Use

For performers and live electronic musicians, Battalion includes a performance mode designed for triggering patterns, looping sounds, and manipulating beats in real time.
