Scaler 3 Chord and Music Theory Plugin Now $79 in Limited-Time Deal

Scaler Music has discounted its popular music theory and composition tool Scaler 3 to $79, down from $99, as part of a 20% promotion running until March 22.

Scaler 3 is designed to help producers, composers, and songwriters create chord progressions, melodies, and arrangements more efficiently. The software combines music theory tools with an intuitive workflow that assists users in exploring harmonic ideas while maintaining creative flow.

One of the main features of Scaler 3 is its chord progression builder, which allows users to drag and drop chords into a sequence. The plugin includes over 1,000 chord sets, scales, and modes, categorized by mood, genre, and artist influence. The system can also suggest compatible chords in real time based on the current progression.

A major update in Scaler 3 is the multi-lane Arrange page, which introduces a timeline-based workflow. Dedicated lanes for chords, melodies, basslines, and phrases allow users to build full musical structures directly inside the plugin. Each lane remains synchronized with the main chord track, making it easier to create complete arrangements.

Scaler 3 also introduces VST and AU plugin hosting, enabling users to load third-party instruments and effects directly within the plugin. This allows composers to audition chord progressions and melodic ideas with their favorite virtual instruments without leaving the Scaler environment.

Another notable addition is Standalone mode, allowing Scaler 3 to run independently of a DAW. This makes it a flexible songwriting tool for experimenting with harmony, chord theory, and musical ideas outside of traditional production setups.

The plugin also includes several advanced theory tools, including a Circle of Fifths explorer, modulation pathway suggestions, and the Explore page, which presents chord options based on tonal color such as dark, bright, or neutral.

Scaler’s well-known phrase system has been expanded into Motions, which convert chords into melodies, basslines, arpeggios, and performance phrases created by professional musicians.
