Skrillex paused his performance at Lollapalooza Chile 2026 after spotting a fan struggling in the crowd, showing once again how seriously artists can take audience safety.

The moment unfolded during his set at the massive festival in Parque O’Higgins, Santiago, where thousands had gathered for the three-day event. Lollapalooza Chile featured major names across the weekend including Sabrina Carpenter, Deftones, Doecchi, Tyler, The Creator, Lorde, Chappell Roan, and Lewis Capaldi, alongside electronic acts like Peggy Gou, Ben Böhmer, and Hamdi. Amid the packed crowd, Skrillex noticed a dangerous situation developing near the front barrier.

A brief moment of tension during the show

Rather than continuing the show, he immediately stopped the music and addressed the audience directly. Repeating “Tranquilo!” several times, he asked the lighting team to turn on the stage lights so security could clearly see what was happening. Then he calmly guided the crowd while helping the fan escape the pressure of the front row.

“If you need to get out, take some time to get out of the front. Step to the right a little bit,” he told the audience before continuing: “Just take a little step back. If you’re pushing someone, please take a little step back. I don’t want anyone to get hurt tonight.”

He also reminded the crowd about the responsibility everyone shares during large shows. “We need to take care of each other. We can’t get hurt tonight. there’s a lot of people here with beautiful energy, but we need to respect each other’s space. Te amo.”

Fortunately, no one suffered injuries, and the show resumed shortly afterward. Fans online quickly praised Sonny Moore. In the end, the quick reaction from Skrillex turned what could have been a dangerous moment into a reminder that the dancefloor works best when everyone looks out for one another.
