Spotify’s new urn lets you take your music into the afterlife
Spotify has teamed up with Liquid Death to launch a limited-edition product that blends music, design, and novelty: the Eternal Playlist Urn.
Announced on February 24, 2026, the product is described as the world’s first urn with a built-in wireless speaker. Designed as a collector’s item, the urn features a discreet Bluetooth speaker embedded in its lid, allowing users to stream music directly from their devices. The idea is simple: take your favourite playlists with you, even beyond life.
The Eternal Playlist Urn is currently available in limited quantities in the U.S., and is aimed at both music fans and collectors drawn to Liquid Death’s signature dark, tongue-in-cheek branding.
Alongside the hardware launch, Spotify has also introduced the Eternal Playlist Generator, a new interactive feature available to users in the U.S. The tool creates a personalised playlist based on a mix of user responses and listening history.
Users are prompted with questions such as their “eternal vibe” and preferred “ghost sounds,” which are then used to generate a custom playlist. The final result can be shared with friends or streamed directly through the urn’s built-in speaker.
The product is the result of Spotify’s venture into lifestyle-driven music products, where streaming platforms experiment with physical objects and themed experiences to engage audiences beyond the app.
