AURORA and The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands unveil new TOMORA single ‘Somewhere Else’: Listen
TOMORA, the new collaborative project between AURORA and Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers, has unveiled its latest single ‘Somewhere Else’, offering another glimpse into the duo’s upcoming debut album ‘Come Closer’, arriving April 17.
Built around AURORA’s unmistakable vocal presence and Rowlands’ immersive electronic production, ‘Somewhere Else’ moves between delicate melody and driving rhythm, gradually unfolding into a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. The track blends atmospheric textures with a heavier electronic pulse, creating a sonic space that feels equally cinematic and club-ready.
A defining early moment for TOMORA
Notably, the song played a key role in shaping the project itself. AURORA revealed that ‘Somewhere Else’ was one of the first tracks the pair created together, opening the door to what would ultimately become the musical identity of TOMORA. “‘Somewhere Else’ is one of the first songs we ever wrote as TOMORA,” she explained. “It opened up a big door for us into our world.”
For Rowlands, the song quickly proved its impact beyond the studio. After testing an early version during a Glastonbury Festival appearance, the reaction confirmed that the collaboration carried something special. “Ever since AURORA sang that melody to me it’s been running around my head brightening my day,” Rowlands said. “We played an early version at Glastonbury and it felt like magic. Now we get to share it.”
The release arrives alongside an official video directed by Adam Smith and S T A R T, expanding the visual dimension of the TOMORA project. Meanwhile, the duo prepares to bring the collaboration to the stage for the first time, with debut live shows scheduled for New Century Hall in Manchester on March 25 and EartH Hackney in London on March 26.
