View footage of iconic private party with future A-list DJs from 2005
Despite being household names today, the superstars of modern dance music all played sets before achieving success. Now footage from a legendary 2005 private party with sets from Axwell, David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, and more has emerged online.
The evolution of dance music from the clubs and underground scene to massive festivals and chart-topping hits has been well documented. During the genre’s growth, many of its future stars were crossing paths as producers and DJs shared spaces as they ushered in the next generation of stars in the scene. Back in 2005, French artist Joachim Garraud was celebrating the passion and energy of dance music and culled together a line-up of then relatively unknown DJs for a private event in Paris. With archival footage now being dug up online, fans are witnessing multiple future superstars before they became household names.
During the private party for Garraud, sets from Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, David Guetta, and Bob Sinclar give insight into the different times and early successes of these future icons. It’s a powerful look at these DJs and producers at an early stage in their careers, and their inclusion in the event gives props to Garraud and his team for recognizing the talent of the future when booking entertainment for the 2005 event. Of course, each of these artists would go on to incredible levels of success in the years to come, but over 20 years later, it is still exciting to revisit these unique moments before they were headlining festivals, selling out arenas, and crossing over into the mainstream.
