Baauer has announced his first album in six years, 'U', with the 16-track project landing June 10 on LuckyMe. The New York producer paired the reveal with a new single, 'Better', a four-minute Eurodisco cut that signals the album's club-forward direction. Notably, 'U' marks his first long-form work since 2020's 'Planet's Mad'. The album carries a clear thematic frame. Meanwhile, Baauer has described 'U' as a homage to the BBC Essential Mixes he listened to as a teenager in London. In turn, the record threads through Ibiza house, bloghouse, nu-disco and the wider sound of the early 2000s club scene.

‘Better’ features Aluna, Kučka, Brazy and Betsy on the vocal side. Furthermore, pianist Eli Teplin contributes to the production. Crucially, the collaborator list points to the album’s pop-leaning disco arc. The single runs four dopamine-heavy minutes, with layered vocal hooks and a strong top-line melody.

Equally, the move back toward disco-tempo tracks aligns with current scene momentum. Nu-disco and filter house have returned to peak-time sets across 2026, with producers like Shiba San, Fred again.. and Moullinex pushing the tempo range. Baauer now enters that lane with a full album. Still, the producer’s roots sit firmly in trap and bass music. The 2012 breakout ‘Harlem Shake’ turned him into one of electronic music’s first viral hit-makers. Baauer has since collaborated with artists like G-Dragon, M.I.A. and RL Grime, and the new album continues his pivot toward more melodic, song-led work.

Finally, ‘U’ lands June 10 on LuckyMe, with ‘Better’ available now across streaming platforms.
