Bang & Olufsen reveal €480,000 limited edition centenary edition Beolab speakers
Bang & Olufsen has revealed the final two models of its Atelier centenary series: the Beolab 90 Monarch Edition and Beolab 90 Zenith Edition. The releases complete a five-part collection celebrating the brand’s 100-year anniversary, following the earlier editions: Titan, Shadow and Mirage. Each edition is limited to just 10 pairs, with every purchase including a certificate of authenticity. Each pair also comes with a miniature aluminium speaker sculpture and a rather staggering price tag of £410,000 / €480,000.
The Beolab 90 Monarch Edition
Both new models are based on the company’s flagship Beolab 90 loudspeakers. The Monarch Edition uses rosewood lamellas combined with aluminium that has been precision-engineered, creating what the company describes as a “flowing, sculptural object.” Enhancing the looks are also semi-transparent fabric panels, that reveal the internal drivers.
The Beolab 90 Zenith Edition
The Zenith Edition, meanwhile, takes a different approach to design. Described as “a symphony of pearls,” it features aluminium spheres and mother-of-pearl inlays. This unique design comes with a dark grey anodised aluminium surface designed to resemble an oyster shell.
Both editions have been built using the flagship Bang & Olufsen 360-degree speaker design, with a total of 18 drivers being used. These include tweeters, midrange drivers and multiple woofers, delivering a fully immersive listening experience.
