Björk confirms new album for 2027 and shuts down title rumors

Home News Björk confirms new album for 2027 and shuts down title rumors

Björk has officially confirmed that her next studio album will arrive in 2027, marking her first full-length release since ‘Fossora’ in 2022.

First, the Icelandic artist addressed ongoing speculation surrounding her upcoming projects in a recent social media post. Rumors had suggested that ‘Echolalia’ – the name tied to her upcoming exhibition and rave event in Iceland – could be the title of her next album. However, Björk clarified that this is not the case.

Instead, she explained that ‘Echolalia’ represents a broader artistic concept, including an exhibition set for 2026 at the National Gallery of Iceland. As part of the project, fans will get an early glimpse of new material, with the exhibition set to feature a version of an unreleased song.

Meanwhile, the 2027 release window confirms that Björk continues to take a long-term, conceptual approach to her music. She blends electronic, experimental, and avant-garde elements, and she has consistently tied each album to a wider visual and artistic universe.

The upcoming project will follow ‘Fossora’, an album that explored themes of nature, grief and grounding, while continuing her signature fusion of organic instrumentation and electronic production.

With a new exhibition, live experiences and fresh music already in motion, Björk’s next era is beginning to take shape – and 2027 now stands as the moment when it will fully come to life.
