Coachella’s Do Lab closes early after light fixture falls on fan
As the entertainment industry turns its attention to the California desert ever April for Coachella, the event’s Do Lab delivers some of the most exciting electronic music. Unfortunately, the 2026 edition faced some frightening technical issues on night one due to high winds.
With a strong history of incredible big name guests and rising stars, Do Lab has emerged as a can’t miss stage for the Coachella experience. The 2026 edition was set to continue this trend, even bringing John Summit to the stage in the evening of the events first night. Fans flocked to witness the American producer just days away from delivering his sophomore album. Unfortunately, things went awry when a piece of lighting equipment fell from the stage production, striking a fan.
The incident took place on Friday, April 10th, about halfway through Summit’s performance. As the music continued, fans recognized the incident and those closest, saw blood on the ground and several attendees worked to help a fan get medical attention. Despite the injured fan and malfunction, John Summit finished his set and was followed by electornic producerJigitz. His set ended up being cut short and the stage was closed off with the night’s surprise closing set cancelled. Friday also saw Anyma’s Mainstage set cancelled due to high winds. Fortunately, Saturday’s performances appear to have gone forward without incident.
