Pharrell Williams’ Goodtime Hotel faces $149M foreclosure amid shutdown reports
A high-profile hospitality project connected to Pharrell Williams has found itself at the center of financial turbulence after reports emerged that The Goodtime Hotel in Miami Beach is facing a major foreclosure lawsuit.
The pastel-colored luxury hotel opened in 2021 and quickly became a hotspot for nightlife and celebrity events. CIM Group has now filed a $149.3 million foreclosure complaint against the property, seeking to seize control following alleged missed payments tied to the development loan.
In addition to the legal battle, reports indicate that the hotel’s operator informed staff that 114 employees may face layoffs, with operational changes expected by the end of May 2026.
Despite the uncertainty, the hotel continues to appear online as an active property within Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, leaving open the possibility that the venue may continue operating under new management rather than shutting down entirely.
Since its opening, The Goodtime Hotel became a recognizable cultural hub in Miami’s nightlife landscape, hosting DJ sets, pool parties and fashion-driven events tied to the broader music and entertainment ecosystem.
Now, however, the future of the property remains unclear. Whether the hotel closes, changes operators or restructures financially, the case highlights the risks behind celebrity-backed hospitality ventures in one of the world’s most competitive nightlife markets.
