Sting releases ‘Desert Rose Reimagined’ EP featuring remixes from Bedouin, Zakes Bantwini and Darque: Listen
Legendary musician Sting revisits one of his most recognizable songs with the release of the new remix project ‘Desert Rose Reimagined’, out now across streaming platforms.
The EP presents six new versions of the iconic track ‘Desert Rose’, including three fresh remixes and their extended counterparts by Bedouin, Zakes Bantwini, and Darque. Together, the artists reinterpret the timeless crossover anthem through modern electronic lenses while preserving the essence of the original.
First, globally acclaimed duo Bedouin deliver a cinematic reinterpretation that blends deep house textures with downtempo grooves and Middle Eastern influences. Known for their immersive SAGA event series and global performances, the pair reshape the track’s atmosphere while highlighting its North African musical roots.
Meanwhile, Zakes Bantwini brings his signature Afro-house energy to the record. The Grammy-winning South African artist builds a rhythm-driven interpretation that reflects his influence on the global Afro-house movement, following the success of his multiplatinum hit ‘Osama’ and his recent album ‘Echoes of Botanical Gardens’.
Finally, Darque offers another Afro-house interpretation, layering vibrant percussion and groove-driven production over the song’s iconic melodies.
Originally released on Sting album ‘Brand New Day’, ‘Desert Rose’ became one of the artist’s most celebrated songs. Featuring Algerian raï singer Cheb Mami, the track blended Western pop with Arabic and North African musical influences, helping it chart globally and remain one of Sting’s most streamed recordings today.
With ‘Desert Rose Reimagined’, the classic anthem now finds new life on modern dancefloors while introducing the song to a new generation of listeners.
