Right away, the booking stands out. While the event remains the world’s largest independent hip-hop festival, the addition of Skrillex signals a clear crossover moment between electronic and rap audiences.

Meanwhile, the rest of the lineup leans heavily into hip-hop’s biggest names and rising stars. Across the weekend, fans can expect performances from Lil Baby, Chief Keef, Lucki, BigXthaPlug, Sexyy Red, G Herbo, and more. At the same time, the festival will host a rare Bladee x Yung Lean performance, alongside electronic-leaning acts like ISOxo, 2hollis, and Whethan.

In addition, Baby Keem joins as a special guest, while North West will make her first-ever festival appearance, adding another layer of attention to this year’s edition.

Looking at the schedule, Lil Uzi Vert will headline Friday, bringing his high-energy catalog back to the festival. Then, Skrillex takes over Saturday with what is expected to be a special set, before Playboi Carti closes the weekend on Sunday.

At the same time, the festival continues to grow in scale. Now in its eighth year, The Summer Smash regularly draws over 100,000 fans across the weekend, transforming the stadium grounds into a multi-stage experience with activations, rides, and one of the Midwest’s strongest food offerings.

Ultimately, with Skrillex leading a genre-blending Saturday and a stacked hip-hop lineup across all three days, Summer Smash 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most diverse editions yet.
