Universal Audio launches UAD Labs, offering early access to experimental music tools

Universal Audio has announced the launch of UAD Labs, a new initiative designed to give music producers and creators early access to experimental tools, workflows, and product concepts.

Integrated within the UA Connect app, UAD Labs acts as a testing ground where users can preview and interact with in-development features before they are officially released.

According to Universal Audio, UAD Labs will roll out “small drops” of experiments, ranging from UI/UX concepts to entirely new music-making tools. Each experience is designed to be quick and accessible, enabling users to test ideas and provide feedback in just a few minutes.

Participation in UAD Labs is selective. Invitations are sent based on factors such as a user’s survey responses and the Universal Audio products they own. Once invited, users can access available experiments through a dedicated UAD Labs tab within the UA Connect app.

The company emphasizes that feedback gathered through the platform will play a key role in shaping its roadmap. Users will be able to share insights on usability, missing features, and overall experience, helping Universal Audio determine what to refine, expand, or bring to market.

To join, interested users must complete a short survey and confirm their participation via email. From there, eligible participants will receive invitations to test relevant experiments as they become available.
