A State of Trance celebrates 25 years with free Loft Amsterdam event
A State of Trance just turned 25, and Armin van Buuren is throwing a free celebration to mark the milestone. The ASOT crew has confirmed an exclusive party at The Loft Amsterdam on June 1, 2026, from 19:00 to 23:00. The Dutch trance icon called it a community moment, open to anyone who wants to celebrate the show’s quarter-century run.
“June 1st 2001 is where it all began,” Armin van Buuren wrote on social media. “What started as a radio show grew into a global movement, and this year we’re celebrating 25 years of ASOT. To mark the occasion, we’re hosting an exclusive and free celebration at The Loft Amsterdam. This community made it all possible, so we’d love to celebrate together with you.”
The numbers tell the scale. Since 2001, A State of Trance has grown from a Friday-night radio slot to a globally recognised dance music brand. The weekly show now reaches listeners in over 80 countries. Plus, the ASOT festival editions have stamped trance moments in Utrecht, Mexico City, Mumbai, Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.
The 25th anniversary year has already brought a wave of activity. Armin van Buuren released the ‘A State of Trance 2026’ compilation earlier this month to mark the milestone. He also announced a first-ever face-to-face set with KI/KI at A State of Trance Vietnam on June 13. Now, the Amsterdam celebration sits in the calendar as a more intimate community-focused moment.
For trance fans, the Loft party is the kind of touchpoint that sells out instantly. The free, capacity-limited format means demand is set to outstrip supply. Armin van Buuren has not yet shared a registration or RSVP link.
Beyond the Amsterdam date, the wider 25-year run keeps unfolding. ASOT 25 sits as both a celebration of where the show has been and a marker of where it is heading. Follow updates via the official A State of Trance site.
