Alesso teams up with JOA on ‘Turn Up The Bass’ featuring Tyree Cooper: Listen

Alesso has dropped a new single with Miami-based DJ JOA. ‘Turn Up The Bass’ featuring Tyree Cooper is out today on Body Hi. It’s a bass-heavy, synth-loaded dance track built around a sample of Tyree Cooper’s 1988 hit of the same name.

The collaboration comes with a full-circle story. Ten years ago, a preteen JOA watched Alesso play at Ultra Music Festival. Now the two share a release and a stage. “We really made a banger with this one. I’m so ready for people to hear it!” Alesso said.

‘Turn Up The Bass’ opens on heavy synths and elevated momentum. Then it erupts into thumping kick patterns and a thunderous bass run that goes straight for the title’s promise. Tyree Cooper’s nostalgic hip-hop vocal sits over the top, tying the modern remake to its Chicago house roots.

Also, the release comes during a heavy run for Alesso. Earlier this year, the Swedish DJ headlined X Games Aspen, made his Milan Fashion Week appearance, and dropped the single ‘FADE’.
