Armin van Buuren releases ‘A State of Trance 2026’ marking 25 years: Listen
Armin van Buuren has released ‘A State of Trance 2026’, the 23rd instalment of his long-running mix series. The triple-mix, 43-track collection lands across three new themes: Pulse, Frequency, and Energy. Notably, it also marks 25 years of A State of Trance.
Crucially, the format itself has changed. For the first time since 2006, the series moves away from its classic format. Out go ‘On the Beach’, ‘In the Club’, and ‘Who’s Afraid of 138?!’. The new themes then capture three distinct moods of trance in 2026.
“Reaching 25 years of A State of Trance is something I could have only dreamed of when I started the show,” Armin van Buuren said. “This album reflects where trance is today and where it’s heading. I’m proud to release another album this year whilst celebrating the brand’s 25-year anniversary and the music that makes all this possible.”
The lead single arrived a day ahead of the full album. Armin teamed with Andrew Bayer for ‘Serendipity’, a warm uplifting production that blends both artists’ signatures. Plus, the album finally drops the long-awaited Rising Star Remix of ‘Sun Shines on Me’ with Glockenbach. The track has been a staple of Armin’s live sets for the past year.
Then come the mix breakdowns. Mix 1 ‘Pulse’ spotlights Armin collaborations with Argy, Andrew Bayer, and Skytech. Other contributors include Joris Voorn, Max Styler, OTTAGON, plus the BLR remix of ‘Tuvan’ by GAIA. Mix 2 ‘Frequency’ then brings peak-time club energy from Amy Wiles, Farius, SUPERSTRINGS, and the official 2026 ASOT anthem ‘Always You’. Finally, Mix 3 ‘Energy’ shifts to higher-intensity driving trance from KI/KI, Lilly Palmer, and The Rocketman. Rising names include S3PPA, DEVERAUX, LAWTON, and Deckers.
