GORDO produced nine tracks on Drake’s new album ‘MAID OF HONOUR’. The producer’s fingerprints sit across the bulk of the rapper’s latest club-leaning record — one of three albums Drake released simultaneously last week. GORDO also handled the beat for ‘WNBA’ on HABIBTI, another LP from the same three-album drop.

For GORDO, born Diamanté Blackmon, the placement is a career milestone. “2 years in the making… one of the proudest moments of my life,” he wrote on Instagram. “This project is for the electronic dance community, for the Latino community, and for everybody that’s been with us on this journey from day one.”

Then for context, GORDO came up in the EDM world as Carnage — building a festival trap and hip-hop crossover reputation before pivoting in 2021. The producer launched the GORDO project as a house and techno focus, and the reinvention has been his long-term direction since.

Also, this isn’t the first GORDO and Drake link-up. GORDO contributed heavily to Drake’s 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ — the pivotal record that pushed one of the world’s biggest rappers deeper into house and club-driven production. Now MAID OF HONOUR brings that partnership into its next chapter. Stream the album via October’s Very Own or wherever you get your music.
