Hardwell and Maddix took over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center for the official EDC Las Vegas 2026 preparty, delivering a massive back-to-back performance that perfectly set the tone for the weekend ahead.
The anticipation surrounding this set felt especially significant considering the history between the two artists. Hardwell and Maddix have spent years shaping each other’s sound through collaborations, label releases, edits, and festival moments. From explosive records like ‘ACID’ featuring Luciana and ‘Rave Till My Grave’ to countless Revealed Recordings releases, the duo has become one of the defining forces behind the current collision between mainstage and techno. Seeing them finally command a full B2B set together during EDC Week felt less like a standard club booking and more like a celebration of an evolving movement within dance music.
The night also carried additional weight for Hardwell fans. EDC Las Vegas 2026 marked Hardwell’s first appearance at the festival since his circuitGROUNDS performance in 2018, shortly before announcing his hiatus from touring. MORTEN then took things to another level. His signature future rave sound brought a heavier, more aggressive atmosphere that pushed the crowd into overdrive before Hardwell and Maddix even stepped on stage. By the end of his set, the energy inside the venue already felt comparable to a full festival closing performance.
When Hardwell and Maddix finally emerged, they wasted absolutely no time. The pair opened with their collaboration ‘ACID,’ immediately unleashing pounding kicks, acid-driven synths, and relentless drops that sent the crowd into chaos within seconds. From that point forward, the set rarely slowed down.
Throughout the night, the duo continuously bounced between techno influences, modern big room, hard dance energy, and nostalgic festival edits. The explosive finale perfectly summarized the chaos and energy of the entire performance, sending fans out into Downtown Las Vegas knowing EDC Week had officially arrived.
