Jamiroquai are marking 30 years since the release of hit single 'Virtual Insanity' with a special vinyl reissue. The 12-inch lands on June 19. The release also celebrates one of the most iconic tracks of the 1990s.
Notably, the new edition arrives as a transparent yellow 12-inch vinyl. The colour complements the song’s original yellow artwork featuring the Jamiroquai logo. The release brings the cult sleeve design back into print in a deluxe format.
Then there’s the song’s wider legacy. ‘Virtual Insanity’ peaked at number 3 in the UK charts and achieved platinum chart status. The track was also a hit across Europe and helped propel the group’s status globally. Parent album ‘Travelling Without Moving’ went on to become the best-selling funk album of all time.
Crucially, the iconic music video remains one of the most influential of its era. The clip’s sliding-floor effect made Jamiroquai a defining MTV moment of the late nineties. The visual still inspires fashion editorials and filmmakers nearly three decades on.
