Kygo has teased a new song with bluegrass legend Dan Tyminski, titled 'On Your Mind'. The track now sits as a direct tribute to Avicii, one of Kygo's biggest influences. The collaboration also pulls Tyminski back into the EDM-meets-country lane he helped invent.
Notably, Tyminski’s place in dance music history runs deep. He provided the vocals for Avicii’s ‘Hey Brother’ in 2013, the track that first blurred the lines between modern EDM and country. The song has now crossed one billion streams on Spotify. Tyminski’s voice has remained one of the most recognisable in the genre crossover space ever since.
Then there’s the personal angle for Kygo. Avicii has long been credited as a foundational influence on the Kygo sound. Pulling Tyminski into ‘On Your Mind’ connects the new release directly to that lineage. The framing feels deliberate rather than accidental.
Plus, the project has been circulating for the best part of a year. Kygo first shared a demo of ‘On Your Mind’ in 2025, with Cavazza on vocals. The new version with Tyminski now reframes the track entirely. The Tyminski vocal closes the loop on the Avicii reference.
Then comes the rollout. Kygo confirmed the new version via Instagram, with no release date locked in yet. Follow updates via the Kygo Instagram.
