Lizwi and Tommy Veanud have released ‘UNqamlezo’. The Afro House single came out on TV Recordings on April 30, pairing the South African vocalist with the international producer for a track rooted in IsiZulu lyric, organic percussion, and tribal rhythm. ‘UNqamlezo’ translates from IsiZulu as ‘The Cross’.

Lizwi’s vocal sits at the centre of the record. The song carries a message of faith, protection, and presence — a reminder to never doubt divine power across both light and dark moments. The Afro House vocalist said in a statement that the song is “a quiet reminder of how easily we forget the creator.” She added: “In the noise and the rush, we have forgotten who we are, and in doing so, we have slowly forgotten him.”

Originally, Lizwi rose through Afro House collaborations with Da Capo, Black Coffee support, and releases on labels including Armada Music, MoBlack, and Get Physical. Her 2024 collab with Joezi, ‘Amathole’, went viral and got a Russian-language rework with Filatov & Karas. Then on the touring side, Lizwi has played 200+ Russian dates plus international shows across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, Thailand, Bali, and Mykonos.

Also on the record is Tommy Veanud, the alias of Russian DJ-producer Artem Dunaev (also known as Prime Punk). His 15-year run includes collaborations with Molella, Idd Aziz, Yves V, and Burak Yeter, an Ultra Europe 2024 set, and Beatport chart support from Hugel, Meduza, and Marco Carola. Now stream ‘UNqamlezo’ wherever you get your music.
