Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter unleash ‘Bring Your Love’, lead single from ‘Confessions II’
Madonna has released ‘Bring Your Love’ featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Notably, the duet lands as the lead single from her forthcoming album ‘Confessions II’, set for July 3 via Warner Records. The track plays as a true house-pop crossover rather than a straight pop record.
The production reunites Madonna with Stuart Price. Meanwhile, Price returns to the Confessions universe after producing the 2005 original ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’. In turn, the partnership signals a deliberate continuation of that dance floor blueprint.
‘Bring Your Love’ samples Inner City’s 1989 house classic ‘Good Life’. Crucially, the choice anchors the single in late-80s and early-90s house lineage. The feel sits closer to Madonna’s 1990 hit ‘Vogue’ than to the ABBA-leaning Eurodisco of the first Confessions era.
The duet premiered live during Madonna’s surprise Coachella appearance with Sabrina Carpenter. Equally, the full performance airs tomorrow at 7am PT on Coachella’s YouTube channel. The clip should give fans the visual companion to the studio cut.
Lyrically, the pair take aim at online critics. Moreover, Sabrina sings “your vision of me is a killer of joy” before Madonna fires back. Her line, “I know where the bodies are buried, don’t try to shut me up”, reads as a direct shot at the comments section.
The rollout continues to pick up steam. Still, Madonna’s first preview track ‘I Feel So Free’ already hit number one on iTunes in 34 countries. The track also topped the most-added chart at U.S. Dance Radio, which carries directly into ‘Bring Your Love’.
Finally, Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Bring Your Love’ is out now, with ‘Confessions II’ landing July 3 via Warner Records.
