Martin Garrix has played a new version of his long-rumoured Ed Sheeran collaboration ‘Rewind Repeat It’ live for the first time. The cut was debuted at his Dallas show on the opening night of his Americas tour.

The track has been chasing a release date for over a decade. The pair first previewed it at Ultra Miami in 2015. ASCAP officially registered the title in August 2017, then under the working name ‘Replay Rewind’. By March 2018, Garrix had publicly said the song would “never be released”, citing Spinnin’ Records rights issues at the time.

That position changed earlier this year. The two were spotted filming together in New York back in March. On April 1, Garrix confirmed the song was finally landing in 2026, with a full album of mixes attached. He then teased the new version on Instagram Live a few weeks later (read the WRY preview here).

The Dallas show is where the track has now been heard in full for the first time. Garrix dropped the new version into his set at the Americas tour kickoff. The reaction in the room read about the way you’d expect for a song people have been asking about for 11 years.

Martin Garrix has also revealed Sheeran’s role in shaping the project. Sheeran came up with the idea of releasing the song in reverse. That spawned several new versions of the cut, which is what’s powering the planned full mix album.

Martin Garrix‘s ‘Rewind Repeat It’ with Ed Sheeran is expected to land later in 2026.
