Nikki Beach Miami to close in August 2027 after settlement
Nikki Beach Miami has officially confirmed the end. The legendary Miami Beach venue at 1 Ocean Drive will close on August 6, 2027. A settlement this week sealed the date.
Crucially, the deal ends years of litigation. The City of Miami Beach, Nikki Beach ownership, and Boucher Brothers signed off this week. As a result, the iconic white-teepee venue has roughly 15 months left.
Boucher Brothers is the beach concession company taking over the city-owned site. The firm will pay $3 million to Penrod Brothers Inc., the family business behind Nikki Beach.
Lucia Penrod, who runs the brand, framed the closure in emotional terms. “Another 15 months to create unforgettable memories with our guests, honor our incredible team, and close this chapter with the spirit and passion that have defined Nikki Beach from the very beginning,” she said in a public statement.
Notably, the beach club opened in 1998. It quickly became a global blueprint for the daytime beach club. Furthermore, the venue anchored Miami Music Week every March. Across two decades of pool parties and sunset sets, the venue hosted Tiësto, Hardwell and countless other dance music names.
Meanwhile, plans for the next chapter are already locked in. Boucher Brothers and Major Food Group, the team behind Carbone, want to build a “world-class beachfront destination”. In short, expect a Mediterranean restaurant, Japanese teppanyaki rooms, and a Sadelle’s Café.
Still, August 2027 marks the end of an era. Equally, the closure removes one of Miami’s most photographed venues. Fans now have a clear window to send Nikki Beach off in style.
