Skrillex teams up with Blawan, MC Dricka & Randomer on new single ‘Thistle’: Listen

Skrillex has officially released his latest single, ‘Thistle’, alongside Blawan, MC Dricka and Randomer. The surprise release marks the third single in his current release run. Plus, it lands just days before his debut CONTRA event at Kraftwerk Berlin on May 30 and 31.

‘Thistle’ follows recent collaborations ‘Duro’ with Young Miko, and ‘Smoke’ with ISOxo. Ahead of the official release today, Skrillex also shared the track directly with fans on his mailing list earlier this week.

The new cut arrives just before CONTRA, the newly launched event platform from Skrillex in collaboration with Berlin Atonal. The two-day takeover at Kraftwerk Berlin runs across May 30 and 31. Curated by Skrillex, the event will feature performances from more than 70 artists across club music, live performance and visual art. Plus, appearances from collaborators and artists across his current orbit fill out the lineup.

Beyond Berlin, ‘Thistle’ also precedes a return to Primavera Sound Barcelona. Skrillex will perform on the Revolut stage on Friday, June 5. The next day, he will curate and host the festival’s CUPRA Pulse stage on the Saturday evening.

For Skrillex fans, the rapid run of releases continues to underline a forward-leaning chapter in his catalogue. The trio of ‘Duro’, ‘Smoke’ and ‘Thistle’ covers a wide stylistic spread, from reggaeton-leaning club energy to bass and breaks. ‘Thistle’ completes that arc with Blawan’s mechanical edge, MC Dricka’s Brazilian baile funk vocal energy and Randomer’s UK techno discipline.
