Steve Angello’s ‘Where’s Your Head At’ remix hits 12-inch vinyl: Listen
Steve Angello has dropped a new format of the official remix of Basement Jaxx ‘Where’s Your Head At’. The remix is now available on 12-inch vinyl, both in stores and online via XL Recordings.
The Size Records boss first put out the rework in April 2026, more than two decades after Basement Jaxx put out the original on Rooty in 2001. The release marked the first time Steve Angello has licensed a Basement Jaxx record for an official rework, with the South London duo signing off on the rebuild.
Now, the rework arrives on wax. Plus, the vinyl pressing keeps the punchy, club-ready energy that defined the digital release and translates it for DJ bags around the world.
The Steve Angello reinterpretation strips back the original’s vocal hooks. Then he reworks the percussion and synth lines for a modern peak-time format. It still nods to the wonky carnival energy of the 2001 cut, but lifts the focus onto the drop.
For collectors and DJs alike, the 12-inch hitting XL Recordings is the next logical step. The original sat at the heart of UK club culture for years. Now, a new generation of dancefloors can pick up the rework in its physical form.
Grab the 12-inch via the XL Recordings store.
