Aaron Hibell: Finding ‘SYNCHRONICITY’ within music [Magazine Exclusive]

Bursting onto the scene and gaining notoriety during the pandemic thanks to social media, Aaron Hibell is one of those rare kinds of artists who take electronic music and redefine it. Thanks to his orchestral and cinematic influences and philosophical outlook on life, his sound takes on an ethereal quality, filled with orchestra-type soundscapes.

It’s thanks to this uniqueness that he has built a dedicated following, leading him to release his debut album ‘SYNCHRONICITY‘. Now, we sit down with him to talk all about this, his deeper level of thinking, and what’s on the horizon.

First of all, congratulations on your debut album! Can you describe some of the feelings you had when you submitted the final version for release into the world?

AARON HIBELL: Thank you very much! Mainly relief, but also fulfilment. It’s been a project I’ve worked on for over 5 years, so I’m very happy to finally have it out in the world.

‘SYNCHRONICITY’ seems much more than just an album, but also a deeper look into your philosophical thinking. Would you say your own thoughts and opinions about the themes explored in the album directly inspired it?

AARON HIBELL: Yes, so I’ve been hugely invested in Carl Jung’s philosophy about synchronicity. It’s this belief of meaningful coincidences, but which only happen once you essentially let go of your ego, the part of you which plans, controls, and fears outcomes, and allow the subconscious to allow intuition to guide you. Synchronicity is something that has not only played a huge part in the process of making this album but also in my entire life.
