Above & Beyond celebrate ‘Anjunabeats Volume 17’ at packed 26 Leake Street pop-up
Above & Beyond celebrated the launch of ‘Anjunabeats Volume 17’ with a one-off pop-up at London’s 26 Leake Street. The intimate event transformed the underground venue into a sweat-soaked celebration of the label’s next chapter.
Crucially, the format placed fans inches from the trio. The stage was surrounded on all sides, with fans close enough to high-five the band throughout the performance. As a result, the atmosphere felt worlds away from the arenas and festival stages the band has headlined globally.
Notably, special moments stacked up across the night. Longtime Anjunabeats favourite Oliver Smith joined the trio onstage to mark the release of his new remix of Atlantis‘ iconic trance classic ‘Fiji’. Furthermore, station2station joined for a performance of their collaborative track ‘Hi-Tech’.
Meanwhile, the biggest reaction came during ‘Feel The Vibe’, Above & Beyond‘s cover of the 2008 Axwell and Errol Reid house classic. As the record dropped, the room erupted, with fans clapping in unison and jumping wall to wall. Equally memorable, the Club Mix of ‘Sailing Off The End Of The World’ sparked a massive singalong.
Indeed, the event marked the official launch celebration for ‘Anjunabeats Volume 17’. The compilation spans 35 tracks across two mixes. In short, the project showcases both longtime Anjunabeats artists and the next generation shaping the label’s future.
Still, the series returns from a four-year hiatus on June 5. ‘Anjunabeats Volume 17’ arrives on digital, CD and, for the first time in the series’ history, vinyl. Crucially, the full pop-up event will land on YouTube this Friday alongside the compilation release.
